Cheers from the Carribean! The Miller family has been chasing pirates this week...
As an early riser, nothing beats coffee on the balcony watching the sun rise. This early quiet time is an incredible opportunity for reflection and to establish gratitude for the important things in your life. Time slows down and thanks to no cell signal... it's amazing how much your stress level drops when you put your phone on airplane mode and leave it in your room. While I resisted “rest” and “detachment” from work early in my career, I now find that I both need the break and the reset. The break often results in new creative thoughts/solutions that were stuck while my brain was in the overload of modern reality.
Also, detachment is key for renewed perspective. It is only once you create distance that you can realize the many small and invisible blessings that exist in your day to day life. Everyone once in a while, we all need to step back, detach and look around. You may see more than you realize…
BTW - This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. A hot coffee tap... boy, that would be trouble in our office!
