What is the key to positive behavior change... consistency! Earlier this week, I was in the middle of a workout and the trainer (Autumn Calabrese - 21 Day Fix) made the statement "Everyday, the Rent is Due!" While her context was focused on working out on a consistent basis to see your desired results, this can be applied to many aspects of our daily lives.
Growth, development, change occurs not in big steps, but rather small, daily actions repeated with consistency to build confidence and lasting change. Some days we simply don't feel like it, yet, everyday the rent is due!
As we enter the season of Lent, this is a time when many of us giving up (or better yet, committing to) a change in our lives. I am giving up sweets, which has already been strongly tested with gourmet cookies at the office on Ash Wednesday. This is going to be tough, but daily, I am committed to growth.
