Our experiences shape us and teach us more than we know.
The last few weeks, I have encountered some bumps in the road. Changes at work, extended travel, and recently two good friends having unexpected medical challanges. I was thinking early this week about an upbeat post... to talk about grit and determination. Yet, attitude is not it here...
I love the mantra that "life is 10% what happens, and 90% how we respond". I will add, it's also what we learn and how it shapes us going forward. Good and/or bad, we learn from the journey. We enjoy the good moments and also perserve through the bad.
A friend of mine is having a difficult recovery from a major surgery. He shared with me this week, "there is a lesson to be learned here. I am not sure what that lesson is yet, but we will learn and grow from this." What an incredible attitude.
As the seasons change, what lesson is life teaching you? Have you taken a step back to pause and reflect, and to be grateful for these lessons - even when they are difficult in the now? Perhaps a thought worthy of a cup of coffee on a crisp fall morning...
